About Me

Nancy Hurley, owner of Indiana Ties website.I am Nancy Niehaus Hurley.  My husband introduced me to genealogy research in 2001 at the library and courthouse in Indianapolis.  Examining those censuses and marriage records on the microfilm machines captured my curiosity completely.  I've been hooked ever since. Since then I have had many enlightening experiences, by way of local repositories, through the Internet and from helpful family members.  A favorite part of making these discoveries  is sharing them with family and meeting new cousins along the way.

I am busy digging into my mostly-German ancestry lines.  Some of the surnames are Kuhn, Risch, Keen, Weber, Albers, Marsischky, Niehaus, Wilmsen. The above link for the Surnames page has a further list and the Genealogy link contains much more of the details. I am happy to share my family research. If you find family links, please contact me before copying the information I am providing here. This is a work in progress and I like receiving input and improvements.

The goals of Indiana Ties are to expand my research, share my knowledge and have a lot of fun writing and talking.  Who knows where these paths will lead.  I hope others will come along with me.  Let me know what you have to say, or if I can be of assistance.
