Wordless Wednesday - Harry Weber, The Boat Builder

Weber, Harry Joseph 1944I’m continuing my Wordless Wednesday photos with the summer theme.  This one tells it’s own story with the notes written by both Harry and his brother, Bob, on the photo itself.
Harry Joseph Weber, son of Harry and Tillie (Kuhn) Weber, enjoys some solitude on Lake McCoy (in eastern Indiana), where the Webers spent summer vacations. He is 17 years old.

  1. Thanks for posting this one. Didn't know my dad had a boat before the blue and white one I remember as a kid. Does anyone know if Lake McCoy still exists today? Mom said that she and my dad went looking for it many years ago before he passed away, but they weren't successful. It's probably sitting in the middle of some housing addition by now! - Anne

    1. Hi Anne: I wondered about Lake McCoy too. A few years ago Jerry and I went looking. It does still exist but it seems that it's private. We drove around but didn't spend too much time investigating. Doesn't appear to be open for the public. Wouldn't that have been great, to be able to have a family gathering there! Love this photo of your Dad. Says so much about him and that time.
