2016 Niehaus Reunion --- Taking A Break To Refresh Family Memories

Family reunions are rejuvenating.  On September 10 our Niehaus clan proved that once again.  It was definitely refreshing to see everyone at Pioneer Park in Mooresville, Indiana, even with a few rain showers.  The family members attending ranged in age from four weeks to 92 years young.   Our younger peeps were happy with running through the playground.  The two newest arrivals, one and three months old,  were welcomed to their first reunion with many smiles.  Some of our day was occupied by browsing old photos, participating in the quilt raffle and enjoying the bidding on the silent auction pieces.  And, of course,  sharing the delicious meal and gathering news on each other’s lives were priorities.
I’m posting our group photo below, along with a few more samples of the family enjoying the reunion.  There are more photos on the Niehaus Reunion page (Tab at top of this page.).  In the second photo below you can see this year’s family heritage quilt with the talented creators and happy raffle winners.  This lovely memento contains the squares created by the previous  year’s reunion attendees along with samples of our ancestral history.

Tanner Jackson and lovely girlfriend
The handsome couple in the photo just above, Tanner Jackson and his girlfriend, are seated at the history table that’s a popular spot to reminisce while identifying faces in our past photos.    Overall, this annual event is a time to slow down from our  jam-packed agendas, to get reacquainted with family and reflect briefly on our heritage.   It was nice to see everyone.
